DIY Honeydukes Jar

DIY Honeydukes Jar

I absolutely love the Honeydukes store at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but my wallet doesn’t agree! I created some of my own Honeydukes jars so I could have the same aesthetic at a fraction of the price. Here’s how I did it.

First, gather your materials. You will need:

  • Jars
  • Color printer
  • Paper
  • Mod Podge (glossy or matte, your choice)
  • A paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Newspaper/scrap paper to paint on

In this picture above I used a mixture of bought and recycled jars. The top most right jar is from a jar of coconut oil. The jar below that with a green lid and the top most left jar were both full of jam. The bottom left jar held decorative lemons from IKEA. The rest of the jars I procured from the Dollar Tree for $1 each. You can do this craft entirely with recycled jars and it still looks very cute.

For your next step, cut out your labels.

Take your paint brush and paint some Mod Podge on the jar where you will be placing the label.

Place the label on top of the Mod Podge.

Press down on the label.

Now add Mod Podge to the top of the label. Cover it thoroughly. I used matte Mod Podge for this craft but if you prefer glossy Mod Podge use that instead.

Your label should be fully covered as pictured below. Wipe around the label on the jar to get rid of excess Mod Podge.

Add all the labels you want.

Now take any lids you might have and either spray paint or use acrylic paint to cover the lids.

Here are your finished products!

Can you tell which jar I bought from the Wizarding World and which ones I made? LOL of course you can, but I still think they came out close!

Here is a glimpse at the official jars you can find in stores:

Add candy to your jars. At one point I will create fake candy and update this tutorial but for now I used real stuff I bought cheap from Target.

On the left is the product I created for the Jumping Snakes, on the right the official Wizarding World product. You can definitely tell the difference, but mine is recognizably the same and far cheaper!

On the left is my version of Pepper Imps, the right the Honeydukes official version.

Display and enjoy!
