DIY Amortentia Potion Charm Bookmark

DIY Amortentia Potion Charm Bookmark

For this Valentine’s Day (or Harry Potter Party day, or day that ends in “y” day) why not make a custom bookmark for the Harry Potter lover in your life? And by mean “Harry Potter lover in my life” I mean me. This is a relatively simple craft that while it does require some materials, is a great addition to a party and/or a wonderful craft to make en masse. First, begin by gathering your materials. You will need:

First, screw in your jewelry screw to the cork of your charm if your bottle does not already come with a screw attached.

Cut out your preferred Amortentia label. If you printed on sticker paper, affix to your bottle.

If you didn’t print on sticker paper, use a tiny dab of your Mod Podge (you can use a brush but I prefer my finger) and add to the back of the paper label.

Apply label to bottle.

Take another dab of Mod Podge to cover the front of the label to seal it.

Cut out a length of velvet ribbon. I made mine ten inches.

Take your ribbon clamps and affix to the ends with your jewelry plier. Make sure you’ve bought the correct size ribbon clamps to ribbon size.

Make sure you seal it tight.

Next, add a small chain and jump ring to one end of your velvet ribbon.

Open the jump ring with your pliers, attach the chain, and attach to the ribbon clamp.

Close your jump ring.

Select your preferred glitter color. I chose a pale pink.

If you have a tiny funnel (…I’m not sure why you would own a tiny funnel but if you did…) use it to put glitter inside the bottle. Otherwise make a small mess like I did until your bottle is to desired fullness.

Use your superglue/permanent glue to affix the cork inside the bottle permanently, otherwise it will fall out and so will your glitter.

Let dry.

Once your charm is dry, add another jump ring to the end of your chain.

Attach your Amortentia charm.

Close your jump ring.

Enjoy your bookmark!

This is a fun stocking stuffer, small gift for friends and others on Valentine’s Day, a just for instance present, a party craft, or even just something fun for yourself!  Make lots of bottles with different potions and potion ingredients.
