In part two of my Recycled Harry Potter crafts…let’s find a use for those sanitizing containers! We all know we have been using cleaning wipes a lot lately *sob* and will most likely have some spare containers kicking around soon. This is a super cheap and cost effective way to recycle materials into something cute!
Let’s begin. First, gather your materials. You will need:
- A wipe container
- Scissors
- Paint (optional)
- Paintbrushes (optional)
- Construction paper (optional)
- Access to a color printer/paper
- Glue stick
- Strong glue of some kind (I used a glue gun)
Take apart your container by cutting off the label and removing the top.
This step is optional, but I painted the top of my container black with acrylic paint due to the image I selected and the fact that it sticks up over the photos. I painted the outside and inside, just for an inch or so on both.
Next, select your image. I chose Hogwarts Castle. One piece of computer paper was not enough to wrap the container, so I printed out the image on both pages. I’m attaching the image so you can see what I mean. hogwarts castle
Cut out the white edges on your Harry Potter image of choice.
Line up the images so it creates one large image and glue together. I used a glue stick here.
Press together and let dry into one image.
Next wrap your printed image around the container. I used hot glue to get a stronger hold.
Hold to container and let dry.
For an optional step: I didn’t like the way my container looked on the inside so I rolled up a piece of construction paper and inserted it inside the container. I also scrunched up another piece of construction paper to make the inside less deep.
Put your items in and enjoy!
