10 Favorite Harry Potter Gifts

As someone who’s become a bit of an addict when it comes to collecting Harry Potter merchandise, I love every piece I own. But some items have a very special place in my heart. Maybe you’re getting into collecting, maybe you’re looking for a gift for a loved one who loves Potter, or maybe you’re just bored and eating Doritos and want to look at shiny stuff. Here are my Top Ten Favorite Harry Potter merch items! Please note I do own all of these and bought them with my own money (or were gifted them by friends and/or family.)

Marauder’s map

One of the first items I ever got as a collector, the Marauder’s Map is a thing of beauty. It’s large, it’s detailed, and while it is a piece of fancy paper that isn’t cheap, I still recommend this as a top gift to the avid Harry Potter fan.

Dumbledore’s Army wand set

Another gift I received from the park and a loved one is the Dumbledore’s Army wand set. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and bonus: you can only get this Luna wand through the DA set. The other Luna wand is available for sale individually, but the wand with acorns is included in the DA wand set. The set comes with a super sturdy base that resembles a scroll, and the wands of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Neville, and Ginny.

Bonus story: when I purchased this wand set at the park at the end of the night we bought it in the Diagon Alley Ollivander’s and then left the park since the box was so giant. While walking through Universal Studios carrying a giant box a cast member screamed “what’s in the boxxxx?” at us ala Brad Pitt in Seven. Thanks random cast member for making us laugh!

Robes

A more recent purchase of mine, the Harry Potter robes! These, like the first two items on my list, are not cheap. I did use my friend’s park holder discount, shhh! But these are also high quality. I couldn’t justify buying a robe for years and then I finally gave in and let myself indulge. I got a Gryffindor robe but of course, buy the robe for the house you or your friend/family member/partner love best!

Wands

A good gift is always a wand. My father gifted me the second, tulip looking Luna Lovegood wand which I adore. A former student I worked with gifted me the Dumbledore wand as her mentor.
A wand set is nice if you’re feeling extra rich, but a wand itself is always a delightful gift. Sure, it’s a hunk of fancy plastic. But doesn’t that fancy plastic bring joy!

Funkos

A classic gift that is also budget friendly, a funko pop is a wonderful gift or item to collect. I own way too many to name, but I particular love my Herbology trio, my Luna lion, the twins, and honestly all my funkos!

Hallmark Ornaments

These are a little harder to find, and I’m still missing the first two because they came out before I really started hardcore collecting. I love all sorts of Harry Potter ornaments, but I’m particularly referring to the Hallmark series of buildings in the wizarding world, like Hagrid’s hut, Honeydukes, Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, and last year’s ornament, the Three Broomsticks! This is a good “holiday” gift as well.

Weasley Twin Wand Set

Another gift I’m obsessed with is my Weasley twin wand set. It includes both Fred and George’s wands in a cute stand.

Hogwarts Tree Topper

A purchase I gave in and bought (because it was on sale) last year is a light up musical Hogwarts castle tree topper! It’s too big for my mini Harry Potter tree so I usually display it year round on my bookshelves. But for those of you with a larger tree it looks absolutely gorgeous on top.

3d Hogwarts Puzzle

This puzzle I received two Christmas’s ago. It’s not for the faint of heart, it took me absolutely ages to complete, but I popped a show to binge on Netflix and went for it and had tons of fun. I can no longer find it online, but it used to be sold at Costco, Amazon, and Walmart.

Mugs

I drink a lot of black tea and green tea and therefore I justify my mug expenditures! My first Potter mug was my Marauder’s Map mug, and then I got a Honeydukes mug and four house mugs that I slowly collected form the park. These are a budget friendly gift that almost everyone will enjoy, even if they don’t drink coffee or tea.

You can purchase the above items through Amazon, Universal Studios Stores online or in person, the Noble collection website, Target, Barnes and Noble, and probably more!
